Josh Reynolds continues to show that he can be a major difference maker for the Los Angeles Rams during the month of December.

As the Los Angeles Rams continue to enjoy the bye week, one of the biggest questions heading into the month of December will be whether Josh Reynolds can continue to make a serious impact in the passing game.

Dating back to last season, Reynolds has struggled to find consistent playing time on offense for the Rams since he was always playing behind the trio of receivers led by Brandin Cooks, Robert Woods, and Cooper Kupp.

Unfortunately, Los Angeles and their fans received the devastating news that Kupp would miss the remainder of the 2018 season after suffering a torn ACL during the team’s win over the Seattle Seahawks.

But as devastating as this news was for the Rams to see when looking the impact made by Kupp over the last two years, Sean McVay and company still felt confident enough in other players stepping up, which Reynolds has been able to do.

Back in 2017 during the NFL Draft, McVay made it a top priority for Los Angeles to improve their receiving corps when seeing how much of a joke the unit was during Jared Goff‘s rookie campaign. And even though his rookie season only consisted of 11 catches for 104 yards with a touchdown, Reynolds made it clear right away that he could be relied on when given the opportunity, which is why he was worth keeping around.

One of the main reasons why the Rams wanted to keep Reynolds on the 53-man roster back when they were making cuts was for this exact situation with Kupp now being sidelined for the remainder of the season.

Even when he was playing at Texas A&M, Reynolds always seemed like the kind of player who was playing with an extra chip on his shoulder to prove he could in fact be a successful receiver.

Between the game against the Green Bay Packers (which Kupp missed with a different injury) in which he found the end zone twice along with the team’s recent win over the Kansas City Chiefs when he caught six passes for 80 yards with a score, Reynolds is filling in quite nice.

Moving forward, the Rams are going to need all of the help possible to finish on top of the NFC since they currently sit in the No. 2 seed at the moment behind the New Orleans Saints as a result of the head-to-head tiebreaker.

Earning the top seed won’t be easy when seeing how great New Orleans has looked in recent weeks, but at least if Reynolds continues to step up on offense the way he has, it will only give Los Angeles a better chance of doing so.
