Even though the Los Angeles Rams are off in Week 12, Sean McVay’s team can still clinch the NFC West if the Carolina Panthers defeat the Seattle Seahawks.

After a hard fought win over the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday night in which history was made with 105 combined points, the Los Angeles Rams were beyond happy to enjoy some extra time off as a result of the bye week.

Sitting at 10-1, the Rams are in amazing shape heading into their final five games, as they currently sit in the No. 2 seed for the NFC playoff picture since the New Orleans Saints have the advantage for the top spot due to the head-to-head tiebreaker.

Since the 5-5 Seattle Seahawks are the only team with a long-shot chance of finishing on top of the NFC West over Los Angeles, it’s basically only a matter of time before Sean McVay‘s title clinches the division title for a second year in a row.

In fact, if the Rams end up receiving some help from the Carolina Panthers during Week 12, McVay and company may actually have something to celebrate on Sunday, which is even more amazing to think about since they won’t even have to play.

The good news for Los Angeles is even if Seattle prevents them from clinching the division on Sunday by defeating Carolina, it’s only a matter of time before they are officially crowned NFC West champions when looking at their comfortable lead.

Despite being one of the early Super Bowl favorites in the NFC heading into the season, the Rams knew deep down the Seahawks would most likely be the one team standing in their way of making things difficult in the division.

Thanks to Los Angeles sweeping their division rivals along with the fact they only have one loss heading into their Week 13 meeting with the Detroit Lions, there’s no question this team has exceeded all expectations as a top contender in the conference.

Once the Rams lock up the NFC West title, the next goal for the team will be figuring out a way to overtake the Saints for the top seed in the conference to secure home-field advantage throughout the playoffs, although they will need some help from other teams.

But for now, all eyes for Los Angeles will be focused on Sunday’s meeting between Seattle and Carolina to see if they can begin the celebration of wrapping up the division during the bye week instead of having to wait until next weekend.
