The Arizona Cardinals take a 2-9 record to the NFC North to play a fading and likely desperate Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. The Packers are 4-6-1 and needing nothing short of a miracle to find their way into postseason play.
As for Arizona, they are coming off of a 45-10 thrashing at the Los Angeles Chargers. Cardinals quarterback Josh Rosen looked every bit as indistinguishable as a rookie can throwing for a paltry 105 yards on 19 attempts with 12 completions. He’d also throw one touchdown and one interception.
11 games in, and the dye is pretty much cast in Arizona. While the switch to Rosen is one that will give him valuable experience, it’s nearly impossible to say it makes sense given what the veteran Sam Bradford may have been able to offer over that same number of games. That said, the rookie has played behind a bad offensive line, that’s something to expect the Cardinal to address come the 2019 NFL Draft.
One thing to wonder about in this Week 13 game is how much fight the Packers may have after a 24-17 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. The mood of Aaron Rodgers is one that looked like a player who knows the season is all but over. It’s also a mood that may give the Cardinals hope, albeit only a little.
