The Seattle Seahawks host a down and out San Francisco 49ers in Week 13. The Seahawks, who have flirted with .500 all season long, looks to be heating up as they have put together two consecutive wins against solid competition in the Green Bay Packers and the Carolina Panthers moving them to 6-5 and still in the postseason discussion.

For the Niners, it’s a completely different story than what fans had hoped for at the beginning of the year. At 2-9 and 0-3 in the NFC West, it’s about draft position now as San Francisco waits for quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo in 2019.

Seattle meanwhile looks to have captured some momentum in recent weeks. With a 27-24 home win against the Packers and a 30-27 win on the road at Carolina, some in the NFL media are beginning to throw some playoff love at the Seahawks.

Week 13 for these division rivals is a tale of two teams heading in very different directions. The NFC West is barely a two team race as the Los Angeles Rams are firmly in control of a second consecutive division crown, and Seattle is a team still looking for a pathway to a wildcard spot in the playoffs.

San Francisco isn’t doing either of those things as Niners fans sit and wait for better days next season.
