Despite the interesting parallels and irony surrounding Week 13 against the Lions, this looks to be one of those matchups where the Los Angeles Rams have all the checkmarks on their side of the ledger.

Beginning with the offense and quarterback Jared Goff, Los Angeles has better receivers, a better and MVP caliber running back in Todd Gurley, better special teams, the best head coach in the NFL, and something says that Suh, Donald and the Rams defense turn the page on some bad play on their side of the football.

Now I know the adage “on any given Sunday” and I get it, but this doesn’t strike me as one of those games where Detroit is lurking to rise up after suddenly putting it all together. At 4-7, they are a unit who has beaten some teams they likely shouldn’t have (26-10 over the New England Patriots, and maybe the road game at the Miami Dolphins 32-21) and lost some that they probably should have won ( a 48-17 loss to the New York Jets at home and the San Francisco 49ers 30-27 on the road).

All that said, the Patriots aren’t the Patriots of old and no matter the genius Matt Patricia is said to be with an improved Lions defense, he hasn’t played a team like the Rams in 2018.

I don’t think it’s a blowout nor a high scoring game like what fans have seen against opponents like the Saints and Chiefs. That said, look for the Rams to win convincingly and move to 11-1, heading to a big Week 14 in prime time against the Bears.
