3 goals for Los Angeles Rams after clinching NFC West following win in Week 13

3. Clinch first-round bye
At the moment, all signs point to the Rams at least earning a first-round bye in the NFC when seeing how the Chicago Bears, who hold the No. 3 seed at the moment, suffered a surprise loss in Week 13 to the New York Giants.
With the Bears sitting at 8-4, this means that Los Angeles currently has a three-game lead over the NFC North leaders, so it seems like the only way they come up short of earning one of the top two seeds would be if a collapse took place in December.
In fact, since the Rams will actually face the Bears this upcoming Sunday, this means McVay’s squad can actually clinch a first-round bye with a win.
Depending on the status of Mitch Trubisky, it will be interesting to see how this game plays out when seeing how much the offense struggled at times last weekend in the loss to the Bears.
Not to mention, Chicago’s defense has established a reputation for being one of the best units in football, meaning they will be heavily tested against the high-powered offense of Los Angeles.
Obviously, something will have to give in this matchup, but when it comes to the Rams, it’s going to be tough to pick against them in this one since the extra motivation to earn the first-round bye will be there.
