The Los Angeles Rams finally are on Sunday Night Football in Week 14 as they play the 8-4 Chicago Bears.

The Los Angeles Rams were flexed out of a Sunday night game back in Week 7 when San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo went down with an injury that would take him out for the balance of the 2018 season.

At the time, and given the state of their schedule, it looked like the Rams would have only their Monday Night Football game against the Kansas City Chiefs as their last prime time appearance. Then the network who flexed them out, NBC, flexed them back in when they moved their Week 14 game against the Chicago Bears back into Sunday night.

It’s a game that the network, especially announcer Al Michaels, seems happy to see this weekend given that it’s Los Angeles and Chicago.

"“This game is going to have a lot of buzz. The Rams are back. Chicago’s back. … The whole thing sets up really nicely. I’ve told a couple people the last couple days the game we have and they go, ‘Yeah!’”"

At 11-1, the Rams are looking to stay ahead of the New Orleans Saints in the chase for home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Oddly enough, their best record in the NFL and also in the NFC has only afforded them this one Sunday night prime time game, whereas the Bears at 8-4, are playing in their third.

The game will also be something of a throwback with two teams that have a long history in the league, but also will feature two of the hottest offensive coaches in Sean McVay and Matt Nagy, two good young quarterbacks in Jared Goff and Mitchell Trubisky, and two of the best defensive players in Aaron Donald and Khalil Mack.

While the Rams have been something of a Unicorn when it comes to prime time, they were part of probably the best game of the year when they beat the Chiefs 54-51 on Monday Night Football. Perhaps their lone NBC appearance will be as good as the Monday night one a few weeks ago.
