Despite a poor outing against the Chicago Bears, there’s no reason for Los Angeles Rams fans to be concerned over Todd Gurley.

Leading up to Sunday night’s game against the Chicago Bears, Todd Gurley and the Los Angeles Rams knew they were going to be in for a tough battle against one of the top defenses in the league.

As Rams fans know, the Rams displayed one of their worst performances on the offense in front of a national audience during Week 14 after only putting up six points during the 15-6 loss to drop their record to 11-2 on the season.

While this record obviously isn’t the worst thing in the world since it seems like only a matter of time before Los Angeles locks up a first-round bye, the loss did put the team in a tough position for the No. 1 seed in the NFC.

Luckily, the Rams have a few games to re-claim the top spot from the Saints, beginning this weekend when the team takes on the Philadelphia Eagles. Of course, if Los Angeles truly wants to get back on top of the conference standings ahead of New Orleans, chances are they are going to need some monster games from their beloved running back in Gurley.

Watching Gurley finish with just 28 rushing yards on 11 carries is the perfect example of how frustrating of an outing this was for the Rams in general on offense. And while some fans have been pointing the finger at Gurley claiming he should be able to come through in key games like this no matter what, keep in mind this was only one performance.

The best players in the NFL are going to have struggling performances from time to time, whether it happens to be Gurley or even Tom Brady.

So while some Los Angeles fans want to criticize Gurley for his disappointing game against Chicago, why not just acknowledge the fact the Bears’ defense is that good instead?

Looking ahead at the remaining schedule, there’s every reason to believe Gurley will finish the regular season on a high note when looking at the team’s three favorable matchups against the Eagles, Arizona Cardinals, and San Francisco 49ers.

Finishing with 28 rushing yards in Week 14 was quite surprising for a running back with the talent level of Gurley, but also this could very well be one of those motivating situations in which the Rams star bounces back in the best way possible.

If Gurley comes through in a big way during these final three weeks to give them a better shot at earning the top seed in the NFC, no one will even care about what took place in Chicago.
