The numbers posted by Todd Gurley the last two weeks are indications that his health may be a legitimate concern moving through however many games the Los Angeles Rams play this season and postseason. Without question, the LA offense ran through him.

Bottom line, as Gurley went, so did the offense.

11 carries for 28 yards against Chicago and 12 carries for 48 against the Eagles don’t seem to be enough to get the Rams to a win. Further, less Gurley means less balance with the Los Angeles offense, less balance means more on the shoulders of quarterback Jared Goff and the end result is a two game losing skid.

Hey, maybe the Rams get right against a bad Arizona Cardinals team in Week 16. The Cards are all shades of terrible, so a solid outing may fix a lot with LA. But since the bye week, the offense has sputtered, and even with Gurley having had a solid outing in Detroit, it’s like night and day before and after the bye.

The Rams without Gurley is a scary proposition for fans. The “meh” in Detroit has become a losing streak where the centerpiece has become the offensive backfield for Los Angeles. Goff being off is one thing. Without Gurley, it’s nearly lights out, and not in a good way.
