Here are four reasons why the Los Angeles Rams should consider resting Todd Gurley during these final two weeks before the playoffs.

After suffering two tough losses in the row to the Chicago Bears and Philadelphia Eagles, the Los Angeles Rams hope to end the 2018 regular season on a high note with upcoming games against the Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers.

This time of year, some teams tend to take advantage of their current playoff position by resting key players to make sure they’re ready to go for the important games come January. And even though the argument can be made that Los Angeles should still be playing most of their starters since they technically still have plenty to play for, the team may want to consider the possibility of at least resting Todd Gurley.

Before fantasy football owners with Gurley pull their own hair out, keep in mind that no matter what, Sean McVay is going to do what’s right for his beloved running back and the rest of the team.

After Gurley missed the beginning of the third quarter of Sunday’s game against the Eagles, it was great to see the Pro Bowl running back eventually return, but also gave somewhat of a concern over how serious his knee injury really was.

Obviously, Gurley wouldn’t have returned to the game if the knee injury was that concerning. But just because Gurley was able to return to that contest doesn’t necessarily mean he’s out of the woods just yet when it comes to the injury.

If anything, the Rams know they need to be extra cautious over these next few weeks when it comes to Gurley since the thought alone of this team participating in the playoffs without him sounds crushing to even think about.

Resting Gurley during this final stretch sounds crazy to even consider at this point, but when looking at a few factors in regards to the situation, it really isn’t that ridiculous after all.
