2. Donald boosts MVP chances

Will Aaron Donald actually work his way into becoming the favorite to win MVP over Patrick Mahomes? Sadly, this most likely won’t happen for the Rams defensive star, but when seeing the kind of season he’s been putting together, Donald certainly deserves to be part of the conversation.

During Sunday’s win over the Cardinals, Donald was an absolute nightmare on the defensive side of the football after adding three sacks to his season total, giving him 19.5 on the year. Not only does Donald now hold the franchise record for most sacks in a season, but this also happens to be a league record for defensive tackles.

Clearly, Donald has been worth every penny of that hefty contract he signed back before Week 1, and one can only imagine where this defense would be without his presence. Donald may seem like a long shot at the moment to win MVP, but even if he comes up just short, Los Angeles should be thrilled over his productive 2018 campaign.

Most importantly, if Donald comes through with another big game against the 49ers to help the Rams secure the No. 2 seed in the NFC playoff picture, this is what the team really cares about the most when it comes to their star defender.
