In a word, defense will be front and center Saturday night when the Los Angeles Rams play the Dallas Cowboys for a chance to advance to the NFC Championship Game. For fans in LA, some cause for anxiety will be on tap.

Running back C.J. Anderson had the opportunity to play them earlier this season and described them as “fast.”

Keep in mind that this is the same defense that held a very powerful New Orleans Saints offense and their quarterback Drew Brees to a whopping 10 points in a late November game at Jerry World.

Count on a stingy Dallas defense to show up and look to do what the Bears did to the Rams in a Week 14 loss.

With that said, can fans expect the Los Angeles defense to hold the Cowboys running and passing game in check to give Jared Goff and Todd Gurley a chance to get the offense going? That will be the test as the Rams ‘D’ has been porous against the run and generous against the pass. this is a game Marcus Peters will need to show he’s an asset and not a liability.

Without fail the Dallas defense is better top to bottom than Aaron Donald  & Co. For LA to have any shot at advancing, coordinator Wade Phillips will need a significant performance from his unit, something that hasn’t always happened in 2018, but was also overlooked by an offense who put points on the scoreboard in bunches.
