Who knows how healthy All-Everything running back Todd Gurley is or is not. By all indications, meaning press briefings by the Rams hierarchy, he looks to be good to go come Saturday night, which is a good thing for the Los Angeles offense.
Then again, so is newest addition C.J. Anderson who has become something of an X-Factor in the Rams offense. His significant presence allowed McVay to rest Gurley and help LA to two big wins in Weeks 16 and 17, making him perhaps the best addition the Rams made all year going back to this past offseason.
That said, he may also help McVay find some balance against a solid Dallas defense who can stop the run better than anyone left on the NFC side of the postseason.
He also will be able to spell Gurley who hasn’t played in almost a month. It’s a balance and a luxury the Rams haven’t had all season as depth at the running back position has been nothing for them to hang their hat on on.
Anderson has done a lot in his brief career in Los Angeles. Should Gurley not be quite what fans expect him to be or what McVay has come to expect, Anderson is the guy who can carry a rushing offense that is critical to not just Goff, but the Rams as a whole.
