Don’t look now, but the best running back on the field Saturday night in the Coliseum won’t be Todd Gurley. That distinction will go to Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott.

Go easy fans. That’s no slight of Gurley and it doesn’t mean I’m a Dallas fan. Truth be told, I can’t stand the Cowboys. But all things being equal, Gurley isn’t 100 percent, Dallas has a better run defense, and the Rams can’t, and haven’t been able to stop a good running back all year, much less a very good to great running back like Elliott.

That’s just how it is folks.

Dallas will have success running the football, and there is no question about that come Saturday night.

The Rams defensive success will be in stopping or limiting quarterback Dak Prescott both running and throwing the football.

That won’t be an easy task either.

Look for the Cowboys to pound away at the Rams with Elliott. Don’t be surprised if he has one of those career games with a stat line of 150 plus yards and even multiple touchdowns, especially if Dallas finds success early with their running game.

The worst case scenario for Los Angeles is a rushing attack dictated by Dallas gobbling up a ton of yards on the ground. The Cowboys dominating time of possession means Zeke is having a big game, putting up big numbers, and limiting the Rams offense being on the field.
