4. Goff finished regular season strong

Towards the end of the regular season, the Rams found themselves in a difficult spot when seeing how they were battling for the No. 2 seed in the NFC playoff picture while Todd Gurley was dealing with a minor knee injury.

From a production standpoint, nobody needs to explain just how valuable Gurley has been to this offense over the years when seeing how the former Georgia star has proven to be a touchdown machine over the last two seasons.

But with Los Angeles having a favorable schedule to close out the year with games against the Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers, the team felt better about their decision to rest Gurley just in case since they had to look at the long-term picture.

Turns out, this ended up being the best case scenario for the Rams when seeing how Gurley was able to earn his rest while the team won both games against the Cardinals and 49ers.

Without question, Goff came through in a big way during these final two games, especially in the regular-season finale win over the 49ers in which he tossed four touchdown passes.

Having C.J. Anderson step up as well in Gurley’s absence certainly helped in a big way, but Goff rightfully received a ton of credit for doing what was necessary on offense to help secure the wins.
