1. Unlike last year, Goff has playoff experience
As mentioned before, one of the biggest concerns surrounding the Rams last January with their high expectations was the fact most of the players were inexperienced when it came to participating in the playoffs.
Time and time again, teams across the NFL have seen plenty of success during the regular season, only to come up short when it mattered the most in the playoffs after struggling to deal with the new kind of pressure.
Goff’s performance against the Falcons during the Wild Card Round wasn’t all that terrible, but also the offense clearly could have used better play from their beloved quarterback to put them in better position to win.
Clearly, the inexperience factor came into play for Goff during that tough loss to the Falcons, but at least what took place then can be used as a learning experience this time around to help defeat the Cowboys.
Now that Goff knows a thing or two about the pressure that comes with playing in the postseason, the Rams shouldn’t have to worry as much about what kind of performance their quarterback will put together with a trip to the NFC Championship on the line.
Yes, there were some concerns surrounding Goff towards the end of the regular season, but also Los Angeles fans need to look at some of their quarterback’s other performances against playoff-caliber teams as well.
When seeing how Goff looked in key games against the Minnesota Vikings (even if they failed to make the playoffs) and the Kansas City Chiefs, there are plenty of reasons to feel confident in the former California star coming through when needed the most to help take down the Cowboys.
