Here are three reasons the Los Angeles Rams should use C.J. Anderson just as much as Todd Gurley during Saturday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Towards the end of the regular season, the Los Angeles Rams found themselves in a somewhat difficult situation with Todd Gurley at running back, as last year’s MVP runner up was dealing with knee inflammation.

Unfortunately, the injury started to become a concern during the team’s Week 15 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, and even though the Rams were still battling for the No. 2 seed in the NFC at the time, they were still able to win their final two games with Gurley watching from the sidelines.

As insurance, Los Angeles made the decision to sign veteran C.J. Anderson to provide an extra boost in the ground game in case they decided to rest Gurley against the Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers, which ended up being exactly the case.

When seeing how Anderson combined for 299 yards with two scores, it’s amazing to think about how much of a steal this ended up being for the Rams when considering he never saw more than seven carries in a single game earlier in the season during his time with the Carolina Panthers.

Plus, with the surprise impact by Anderson fitting in Sean McVay‘s offense along with Gurley showing clear signs of being ready to go for Saturday’s battle with the Dallas Cowboys, this could make the Rams even more dangerous on offense.

Throughout his career, Gurley has always proven to be a workhorse who is willing to play as many snaps as possible, but also McVay is smart enough to know that Anderson’s presence will simply be too valuable to waste.

So with Los Angeles having two solid options to work with at running back all of a sudden, here are three reasons why McVay should consider using Anderson just as much as Gurley once Saturday’s game gets underway to give the team a better chance of defeating the Cowboys.
