You’ll get an argument for how big of an advantage the Mercedes-Benz Superdome will be for the Saints on Sunday. But don’t think it will take the Los Angeles Rams out of their game.
At least not much.
It would be a fool’s paradise for Rams’ fan to think that the Superdome WON’T provide some kind of home field advantage for the Saints because it will.
The Rams play the Seattle Seahawks twice a year with one of those games being at the home of the 12th Man. That’s easily the toughest place to play in the NFC West, with all due respect to fans who haven’t sold their tickets and actually show up at the Coliseum.
The upside for Los Angeles is that they have already played in the Dome in what was the biggest game they played up until that Week 9 game in New Orleans. In addition to games on the road against the Saints and the Seahawks, they also played at Soldier Field in a Sunday night game against the Chicago Bears.
Simply put, as good of a crowd and as great as the fans are in New Orleans, the Rams have faced more than a few of those this season and won’t be easily affected.
