Despite the fact that the media would have loved a Dallas Cowboys, Jerry Jones NFC Championship Game matchup against the Saints and his could have been head coach in Sean Payton, fans actually got the better game with the better team in the Los Angeles Rams playing in New Orleans.

Dallas got out coached and outplayed against the Rams despite whatever excuses Cowboys fan will offer.

As I said at the outset, the storylines are rich for this championship game. With everything on the line in this win and advance, lose and go home matchup, NFL fans will get the two best teams the NFC offers. It’s compelling at the quarterback level, the head coaching level, defenses who will be tested, and the opportunity that a slug-fest could develop though I don’t personally think so.

If their Week 9 contest is any indication, this NFC Championship Game could be and likely will be the best game on Sunday. Both teams were explosive, featured potential MVP candidates like Brees and Rams running back Todd Gurley, have what most consider top tier coaches in Payton and McVay, and played in one of the most entertaining matchups this season.

They also were a solid prediction to be in this very game.
