Los Angeles Rams will face New England Patriots during Super Bowl 53

The Los Angeles Rams will face the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 53.
After their thrilling overtime win over the New Orleans Saints in the NFC Championship, the Los Angeles Rams had to wait a few extra hours following the conclusion of the game before finding out who their opponent in Super Bowl 53 would be.
Turns out, the AFC Championship would end up going to overtime as well, and despite an impressive outing by the Kansas City Chiefs, it was the New England Patriots who punched their ticket to the Super Bowl for a third year in a row.
As exciting as it would have been to see a rematch between the Rams and Chiefs after watching these two teams knock it out in a shootout back in November, the Patriots will still make for an entertaining game.
Year after year, New England is always considered a heavy Super Bowl favorite, and while they may seem to have an early edge from an experience perspective, Los Angeles is playing with all sorts of confidence at the moment.
Even if there was some controversy towards the end of regulation in their win over the Saints over a missed pass interference call, just watching the Rams pull through with a win the way they did shows just how special of a team Sean McVay has.
To watch Los Angeles be in this position after looking at where they were two years ago before the hiring of McVay has been unbelievable to witness, and one can only imagine the level of excitement if the Rams find a way to defeat the Patriots in two weeks.
Watching a young head coach in McVay face one of the greatest of all time in Bill Belichick should bring a whole new perspective to this matchup, as many it’s only a matter of time before McVay enters that conversation.
But before jumping that far ahead, Los Angeles is focused on what the next two weeks will bring preparing for what is expected to be a tough showdown against a New England team that has been waiting for another opportunity to play in the Super Bowl after last year.
If all goes well in two weeks, maybe McVay and the Rams will be celebrating like the Philadelphia Eagles were last February, so let the Super Bowl fun officially begin in Los Angeles.
