Here are three reasons why it would make perfect sense for the Los Angeles Rams to already look into a potential extension for Sean McVay in the offseason.

Two years ago, the Los Angeles Rams took a major risk by making Sean McVay the youngest head coach in NFL history following five disappointing seasons under Jeff Fisher.

At the time, the Rams were considered one of the biggest laughing stocks in the NFL since they were coming off a 2016 season in which the team won just four games, and ranked dead last by averaging just 14 points per game.

Since then, Los Angeles has become one of the most dangerous teams by winning back-to-back NFC West titles, and appears to be strongly built for years to come when looking at all of the talent the team has to work with on both sides of the football.

When the Rams first hired McVay, the original plan seemed to be the team would need a few years before they could even become part of the conversation of being a serious contender when looking at the mess that was inherited by the former offensive coordinator.

Instead, McVay has pulled the unthinkable by helping Los Angeles become one of the top teams to beat in the NFC, and when hearing the recent report about the team exploring the possibility of an extension during the offseason, non one should be all that surprised if it were to happen.
