2. McVay clearly deserves a pay raise

Even though McVay is still technically under contract for three more years, the Rams realize the importance of making sure their beloved head coach continues to be happy, especially when looking at what some of the other coaches across the NFL are making.

As Jason La Canfora pointed out in his report, coaches like Jon Gruden (signed a 10-year, $100 million deal last offseason) and Pete Carroll (will make $11 million per season after recent extension) have set the bar high for the rest of the league.

Right away, football fans will point out how McVay clearly deserves to be making more than someone like Gruden at the moment after the Oakland Raiders ended up being one of the biggest disappointments from the 2018 season.

Carroll on the other hand, well with all his success in Seattle over the years, only a fool would question the fairness in the Seahawks paying him that kind of money.

Deep down, McVay knows his pay raise is going to come at some point as a result of his success from the previous two seasons, but why wouldn’t the Rams just take care of it now?

Clearly, McVay has proven himself worthy of deserving the extension, and Los Angeles seems to be playing the smart approach by already looking into the possibility once the offseason arrives.
