8. Acquiring Fowler in middle of 2018 season

Since the Jacksonville Jaguars had unfortunately taken a major step back in 2018 after emerging as a top contender the year before, the team was willing to move on from Dante Fowler after looking at the disappointing season he was having before the trade deadline.

As Jaguars fans remember, Fowler’s career didn’t exactly get off to the best start after the former first-round pick suffered a torn ACL during his first day of mini-camp back in 2015, meaning the team would have to wait until the following year to see what kind of impact he could make.

At first, the former Florida standout appeared to have a bright future in Jacksonville, but after watching him record just two sacks with nine combined tackles in seven games before the trade to the Rams, it was easy to understand why the Jaguars were moving on.

With that being said, a fresh start in Los Angeles already looks like the best thing to happen for Fowler’s career after looking at the impact he’s made since coming on board, and even managed to earn six starts during the regular season.

Not to mention, one can only imagine how different the defense would be playing in the postseason if Fowler wasn’t part of the picture, and thank goodness the Rams were willing to take a chance on him when they did since giving up the mid-round draft picks seems like nothing.
