7. New cornerback duo in Talib, Peters

Despite how much they wanted Trumaine Johnson to return for another season, the Rams knew early on last offseason the star cornerback would most likely be too expensive to keep around, meaning the team would most likely look to the draft to fill their need.

Instead, Los Angeles pulled off a few surprises in the months leading up to the draft by not only acquiring Marcus Peters from the Kansas City Chiefs, but also Aqib Talib in a deal with the Denver Broncos.

All of a sudden, the Rams went from having a major need at cornerback to having a new duo in Talib and Peters, although it hasn’t always been great at times.

Unfortunately, Los Angeles learned the hard way that Peters isn’t always as effective without Talib in the lineup after the veteran was sidelined for a majority of the regular season with an ankle injury.

Luckily, Talib has been back in action over the last month or so for when it matters the most, as the duo deserves a ton of credit for the job they have done so far in the postseason with tough matchups against the Cowboys and Saints.

Once again in the Super Bowl, both Talib and Peters will have their hands full since the Patriots have plenty of weapons for Brady to rely on in the passing game.
