4. Zuerlein’s foot

As impressive as it was to watch Greg Zuerlein connect on a field goal from 48 yards out near the end of regulation to send the NFC Championship into overtime, nothing tops the game-winning 57-yard field goal that later game to help the Rams punch their ticket to the Super Bowl.

Over the years, Zuerlein has put together plenty of amazing performances in times when the Rams needed him the most, but it’s going to be difficult to top what the kicker accomplished in the NFC Championship game.

Then again, Zuerlein could easily top all of this by coming through with another game-winning field goal in the Super Bowl, but hopefully Los Angeles finds a way to build a strong enough lead where it doesn’t come down to this.

With that being said, it became quite a surprise days after the NFC Championship that Zuerlein was dealing with a strain on his planting foot, which is the last thing the Rams or their fans want to hear.

Even if McVay seemed to downplay the issue during a press conference since Zuerlein clearly was able to kick just fine, nothing would be more frustrating than to see this strain become an issue in the most important kick of the kicker’s career.
