After seeing what Alvin Kamara was able to accomplish through the air in the NFC Championship, the Los Angeles Rams could have their hands full with James White during Super Bowl 53.

During the regular season, it was no secret that stopping the run was one of the biggest struggles for the Los Angeles Rams on the defensive side of the football, although the unit deserves plenty of credit for the adjustments made in the playoffs.

After limiting Ezekiel Elliott to rushing for only 47 yards in the Divisional Round, the Rams took things to a whole new level in the NFC Championship by allowing Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara to combine for just 46 rushing yards.

Watching Los Angeles make this kind of turnaround when it matters the most in the postseason deserves plenty of praise since one can only imagine if they would even be playing in Super Bowl 53 against the New England Patriots if the defense didn’t step up the way they did.

Once again, the Rams’ defense will have their hands full on Sunday when taking on the Patriots since their trio of running backs in James White, Sony Michel, and Rex Burkhead are each capable of being the lead rusher, as Bill Belichick tends to go with the hot hand each game.

However, if there were one running back for Los Angeles to be most concerned about, White seems like the player who sticks out the most since his skill set is similar to Kamara when it comes to being an effective receiver.

As hard as it is to believe, White is actually more valuable as a receiver than running back for the Patriots, and the numbers he puts up each year will back this statement up.

Just look at what White was able to accomplish in the Divisional Round in the win over the Los Angeles Chargers when the Patriots running back hauled in 15 passes from Tom Brady, which is insane to think about for any running back.

In the NFC Championship, the Rams saw a similar impact from Kamara after the Saints star running back was almost impossible to defend as a receiver after watching him catch 11 passes for 96 yards.

Since this isn’t the first rodeo for New England, chances are they’re going to try and take a similar approach when facing Los Angeles in the Super Bowl, only with White.

Even if the Rams continue to do an amazing job at stopping the run, it’s going to be figuring out a way to keep the football out of White’s hands through the air that could cause the biggest problem for the defense of the NFC champions.
