Sean McVay says the Los Angeles Rams won’t be moving Brandin Cooks in the upcoming offseason, which is good news in LA.
For those who are fans of wide receiver Brandin Cooks, rejoice. According to Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay, LA isn’t expected to deal him after the Super Bowl.
Hey, this isn’t surprising news.
Cooks, who has changed teams twice the last two seasons, looks to be a fixture in Los Angeles for the foreseeable future, and that’s a good things for the Rams, especially quarterback Jared Goff.
McVay, who was speaking to the media on Tuesday, said the Rams are good with Cooks right where he is.
"“When you get a chance to talk to Bill Belichick and Sean Payton. They think the world of Brandin and what he’s done. Everybody that’s been around Brandin you can’t talk enough about the production. This is a special human being. The way he goes about his business.”"
As much as fans missed Cooper Kupp who was lost for the season, the emergence of Cooks along with the production of Robert Woods, has become a potent combination for the Rams and McVay’s offensive passing attack.
The former New England Patriots receiver was acquired during a dizzying free agency periods for the Rams. Los Angeles sent a first round-pick in last year’s draft along with a sixth-round pick for the 25 year old. Los Angeles would eventually sign him to an $81 million, five year extension in July.
The Oregon State product has been a solid and consistent contributor in his five seasons. He’s racked up over 1,000 yards in his last four seasons including 1,204 in 2018, a career high.
Count on the Rams to lean heavily on Cooks in the Super Bowl. With the Patriots looking to key on the Los Angeles rushing attack, McVay and Goff could rely on the receivers, especially Cooks for a big game on Sunday.
