Here are three reasons Brandin Cooks could take home MVP honors if the Los Angeles Rams win Super Bowl 53.

Looking back at how the Los Angeles Rams managed to earn a trip to Super Bowl 53 in what should be a classic battle against the New England Patriots, one of the best decisions made by the team back in the offseason was acquiring Brandin Cooks.

Prior to the trade, the Rams felt confident enough in the passing game being just fine since Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp seemed capable of handling most of the workload. Not to mention, with Josh Reynolds showing potential as a rookie as well, Los Angeles felt confident the previous loss of Sammy Watkins in free agency wouldn’t impact the receiving corps that much.

Turns out, Watkins leaving was the best thing to happen to the Rams since it led the trade to land Cooks, who is easily an upgrade as a No. 1 wide receiver.

At first, there were some concerns over the fact that Los Angeles was going to be the third team for Cooks in three seasons, but those concerns were quickly thrown out the window when the speedster received a hefty extension from the team before even suiting up once in a game.

Due to this decision by the organization, Cooks will play a key role in continuing to make sure the Rams contain one of the top offenses in the NFL for years to come, although the main focus right now is winning Super Bowl 53 over the Patriots.
