C.J. Anderson is one of numerous free agents the Los Angeles Rams will need to decide on for the 2019 season.

Losing to the New England Patriots the way they did was absolutely devastating for the Los Angeles Rams after looking at all of the accomplishments Sean McVay‘s team pulled off leading up to Super Bowl 53.

From winning the NFC West title for a second year in a row to proving this team is built to compete in the NFC for years to come, the Rams have plenty to be proud of from his past season, even if they came up short in Super Bowl 53 against the Patriots.

Not to mention, Los Angeles may have found another surprise weapon to work with in 2019, depending on what C.J. Anderson ends up doing once free agency officially gets underway in March.

Back in December, Anderson was brought on board for insurance purposes while Todd Gurley was dealing with a minor knee injury to put the Rams’ offense in better position during the final two regular season games, which ended up working wonders.

Thanks to back-to-back 100-yard rushing games by Anderson, Los Angeles was able to get by the Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers while Gurley received some extra rest to help clinch the No. 2 seed in the NFC playoff picture.

Even in the Divisional Round against the Dallas Cowboys, Anderson was able to rush for 123 yards to go along with two scores, and would end up leading the ground game in the NFC Championship to help take down the New Orleans Saints when Gurley had an unfortunate off day.

Without Anderson’s presence, it’s tough to imagine Los Angeles being in the position of participating in the Super Bowl, and even though Gurley will always be the clear No. 1 running back for this team when healthy, bringing the veteran back for another year isn’t a terrible idea.

In fact, here are three reasons to build a strong case over the Rams making Anderson one of their top priorities this offseason so the veteran running back continues to be part of the picture for 2019.
