Los Angeles Rams: 7-Round 2019 mock draft version 1.0
By Dan Parzych
Round 4: Alabama G/C Ross Pierschbacher
Regardless of what happens with Whitworth or Saffold, the guard position was already considered an area the Rams were expected to focus on improving over the next few months, whether it involves free agency or the draft.
Once again, the good news for Los Angeles is if they do decide to look for a guard in this year’s draft, chances are they will be able to find some hidden talent in the middle rounds since McVay has already proven this to be one of his specialties.
Nick Saban has seen plenty of his former NFL players go on to succeed at the NFL level, and it will be interesting to see which team ends up taking a shot on Ross Pierschbacher since the potential is certainly there for him to develop into a reliable offensive lineman.
Of course, one of the main concerns surrounding Pierschbacher is his ability as a blocker, although he does help make up for it when looking at the work put in to help establish a strong ground game.
Plus, if Whitworth were to return for another year to help the Rams make another run at the Super Bowl, Pierschbacher would be able to learn plenty from the veteran since he would be able to offer the rookie a ton knowledge wise.
