Elijah Lee

After the Minnesota Vikings made the decision to waive Elijah Lee in 2017 before signing him to the practice squad after using a seventh-round pick on the former Kansas State star, the linebacker would eventually join the San Francisco 49ers on a two-year deal.

Over the last two seasons, Lee has appeared in 30 games for the 49ers, and while many believe a return to the team could lead to a larger role for the 2019 season, this is another one of those situations in which there are no guarantees.

Only time will tell when it comes to seeing where Lee will end up, but similar to this time last year, the linebacker position is one of the areas in which Los Angeles needs to improve on.

Without question, the Rams would catch a huge break if they were able to work out a proper deal with Dante Fowler after a fresh start in the middle of last season came up big for Los Angeles, but even with the former first-round pick on board again, the defense still needs additional help.

Lee seems to be the kind of player who will continue to get better in the NFL with experience, and watching him fill in on defense for the 49ers in a big way with five starts to go along with 65 combined tackles shows why this could be huge for the Rams if it were to happen.
