With the Los Angeles Rams looking to improve the linebacker position this offseason, Brandon Marshall seems like he’s going to become available.

Losing to the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 53 the way they did will leave the Los Angeles Rams thinking what could have been over the next couple of months, but at least their confidence should be high about earning another shot to win it all during the 2019 season.

Two years ago, the Rams were considered one of the league’s biggest laughing stocks coming off a four-win season, and expected to go through at least a year or two of rebuilding once Sean McVay was hired.

But as Los Angeles fans know, the complete opposite happened, as the team is coming off back-to-back NFC West titles along with their recent trip to the Super Bowl, showing just how strong this team is built for years to come.

Of course, just because the Rams are strongly built for the future doesn’t separate them from every other team in the NFL when it comes to having a few areas in need of improvement, one of which happens to be the linebacker position.

Around this time last year, linebacker was one of the areas Los Angeles knew they needed to work on to put them in better position to compete for the 2018 season. And while it was great to watch the team acquire Dante Fowler Jr. before the trade deadline since his impact played a key role in helping the team reach the Super Bowl, there’s no guarantee he will return to the Rams in 2019.

If this happens to be the case, the good news for the Rams is between free agency and the NFL Draft, there will be plenty of candidates at linebacker to consider bringing on board. In fact, with the recent news surrounding the Denver Broncos, and how they’re most likely going to part ways from Brandon Marshall, this seems like a veteran worth keeping an eye on over the next month as far as interest is concerned for Los Angeles.

Back in 2013, the Broncos wasted little time bringing Marshall on board to their practice squad following his release from the Jacksonville Jaguars, and since the 2014 season, the linebacker has played a big part in the success of the defense.

Unfortunately, one of the toughest parts about professional sports is how all good things must come to an end at some point, and despite having two years remaining on the four-year extension signed back in 2016, it appears Denver feels it’s time to part ways.

On a positive note, no matter where Marshall ends up for the 2019 season, whether the Rams end up expressing interest or not, the good news is the linebacker already has a Super Bowl title to his resume, and appears to have plenty of great football left in him.

Instead of looking at the fact that Marshall will be turning 30 in September, Los Angeles should take a similar approach as last season in which the veteran linebacker should be viewed as a potential missing piece to win the Super Bowl.
