3. New York Jets: Quinnen Williams, Defensive Tackle, Alabama

Finally, the New York Jets seem to have a quarterback to build the franchise around in Sam Darnold after trading up a few spots in the first round of last year’s draft to make sure they were in the best position possible to land the former USC star.

For years, the Jets have gone through numerous quarterbacks on offense, only to come up short for the most part each time. But after watching Darnold play better than expected as a rookie in 2017, New York finally feels confident about their situation at quarterback for the first time in what feels like forever.

Now, it’s up to the Jets to build a better offense around their young quarterback to make sure Darnold is in the best position possible to live up to this true potential on offense. With the No. 3 pick, New York will be in a great position to add another talented player on offense, but passing on Quinnen Williams seems like one of those decisions that would come back to haunt them.

Between his quickness and pass-rushing abilities, the Alabama product would be a great fit on defense for the Jets. Assuming Williams wastes little time making the necessary impact as a rookie, New York’s defense would receive a major boost to help put them in better position to compete in the AFC East.
