With Antonio Brown looking like he’s going to be on the move from the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Los Angeles Rams could face the wideout twice a year if he joins a team in the NFC West, like the San Francisco 49ers.

Even though the news surrounding Antonio Brown doesn’t directly impact the Los Angeles Rams since the team seems to be set at wide receiver, and the chances of them acquiring the speedster seem slim, this doesn’t necessarily mean the NFC champions won’t have to deal with the wideout.

After meeting with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Tuesday, it seems like only a matter of time before Brown ends up with a new team for the 2019 season, and while there will be plenty of teams expressing interest in the veteran, one team worth monitoring happens to be in the NFC West.

Around this time last year, the San Francisco 49ers were feeling all of the confidence in the world about their future with Jimmy Garoppolo at quarterback after watching the former New England Patriots backup finished the 2017 season on a strong note with a 5-0 record.

By rewarding Garoppolo with a hefty five-year, $137.5 million extension, the next task for the 49ers was to make sure their beloved quarterback had the proper offense to work with, which unfortunately is still a work in progress.

Also, after suffering a torn ACL early on last season, San Francisco faces extra pressure of making sure Garoppolo will return to his normal ways since this is never an easy injury to recover from.

So what does all of this exactly have to do with the recent news involving Brown potentially being on the move in a trade? Well, it’s pretty simple to connect the dots on this one since the 49ers could certainly use a reliable wideout for Garoppolo to work with, and the addition of someone like Brown would almost seem like a dream come true for the San Francisco quarterback.

Football fans can say whatever they want about some of the drama caused by Brown over the last couple of months, but at the end of the day, his talent alone as a receiver makes it all well worth it, especially after watching him haul in 15 touchdown catches in 2018.

In good time, the 49ers will most likely look deeper into this possibility to see what it would take to acquire Brown from the Steelers, and if this dream does end up becoming a reality for San Francisco, this means Los Angeles better be ready.

Brown has proven on numerous occasions throughout his career that shredding some of the best defenses in the NFL isn’t a problem on his end, and while the Rams have plenty of reasons to feel confident in being able to keep him in check if he were to join the 49ers, it’s not always that easy.

Keep in mind how confident San Francisco felt in being able to compete with Los Angeles last year before Garoppolo went down with a season-ending injury, and if Brown were to end up becoming part of the picture, things in the NFC West would become a little more interesting for 2019.
