2. Manti Te’o

Just when it seemed like Manti Te’o had found a comfortable home following a strong 2017 campaign with the Saints in which he played every game for the first time in his career after four years with the San Diego Chargers, the linebacker only appeared in five games this past season.

Even after recovering from a knee injury early on in the season, New Orleans decided not to use Te’o as much throughout the 2018 season, which is part of the reason why early signs point to the former Notre Dame star ending up on a new team once free agency begins.

Taking a step back this past season was a tough pill to swallow for Te’o after all the expectations back in training camp, but at least he should find little trouble in coming across another team willing to provide an opportunity to prove himself worthy on defense.

With Los Angeles in need of help at the linebacker position, Te’o could turn into one of those surprise options for the team to consider since the thought alone of him teaming up with Wade Phillips cold work wonders.

Plus, as bad as it sounds, one of the positive factors for the Rams to use to their advantage is the cheaper price they could most likely sign Te’o for after his lack of impact in 2018.
