2. Jadeveon Clowney

Selecting Jadeveon Clowney with the top overall pick back in 2014 was almost too easy of a decision for Houston at the time since the defender was an absolute freak at South Carolina, and seemed ready to make the transition to succeeding in the NFL.

Unfortunately, Clowney’s first season with the Texans turned out to be a complete bust after a knee injury forced him to see action in just two games, leaving some to believe that Houston may have made a mistake going with the defender at No. 1 in the draft.

Flash forward a few years later in which Clowney is coming off another strong campaign in 2018, no one is questioning the decision by the Texans anymore since he’s been able to prove that when healthy, it’s nearly impossible to keep him in check at times.

The 18.5 sacks alone over the last two seasons shows how valuable Clowney has been to the defense, and in a matter of weeks, all signs point to a hefty pay raise for the defender.

For obvious reasons, Houston would love to keep Clowney as part of the picture to keep their defense in solid shape for years to come, especially with J.J. Watt still around. However, if Clowney were to explore all potential options in the open market, this seems like one of those dream signings the Rams would love to jump on if given the opportunity.
