2. Marcus Cooper

Speaking of former seventh-round picks, Marcus Cooper made quite the impact right away as a rookie in 2013 when the Kansas City Chiefs claimed the cornerback off waivers from the San Francisco 49ers.

Watching Cooper finish with three interceptions to go along with a forced fumble made it clear early on that Kansas City seemed like they ended up with a steal based off his play over the next three years.

Unfortunately for Cooper, the cornerback’s decline of play would result in a trade to the Arizona Cardinals before the start of the 2016 season, although this was a great move for him at the time after recording four interceptions while starting 13 of 15 games.

As a result of his impressive play, Cooper would go on to sign with the Chicago Bears the following year before eventually being released in the middle of last season, which led him to the Lions.

What kind of impact Cooper is capable of making in 2019 still seems to be up in the air, but depending on what happens with a few other members of the Rams at cornerback once free agency begins, this could be a solid option from a depth perspective on defense.
