Since the Kansas City Chiefs are exploring trade options with Justin Houston, the Los Angeles Rams should get in on the action.

At the moment, the main focus surrounding the Los Angeles Rams seems to be on this combine in Indianapolis this week before the start of free agency in the middle of March.

However, if the NFC champions really want to kick things up a notch by making this offseason a little more interesting, the Rams should reach out to the Kansas City Chiefs to find out what it would take to land Justin Houston in a trade.

Despite the impressive play by Cory Littleton last season, and the possibility of Dante Fowler Jr. returning for his first full season with the team, linebacker was still a position they were expected to focus on this offseason, whether it was through free agency or the draft.

Since the Chiefs seem to be in talks about a potential trade involving the effective pass-rusher, one has to wonder if the Rams would consider trying to get in on the action, especially after the approach from this past season.

Acquiring a talented player like Houston certainly wouldn’t come cheap for Los Angeles since Kansas City is smart enough to know just how valuable of a player he can on defense, but let’s not forget this team hasn’t been afraid to be aggressive before.

For a team that has dealt their first-round pick in each of the last two seasons as part of trades to land Jared Goff and Brandin Cooks, it’s safe to assume the Rams would even consider the possibility of trading their top pick for a third year in a row if they wanted Houston that bad.

Similar to last season when Los Angeles signed Ndamukong Suh, just the thought of Houston joining an elite defense with one of the league’s top defenders in Aaron Donald sounds like it would terrify any opposing quarterback facing their defense.

Other teams may have more to offer the Chiefs than the Rams, but as last offseason showed for Los Angeles, anything is possible when it comes to unexpected trades taking place, and here’s to hoping the team at least explores this possibility with Houston just to see what could happen.
