5. Iosua Opeta, Weber St.

Sean McVay made it a top priority two years ago to make sure Jared Goff received better protection from the offensive line heading into his sophomore campaign, and the rest is history.

Taking players from smaller schools can sometimes be risky for NFL teams, but Iosua Opeta quickly made a name for himself at the combine, especially after leading all offensive lineman with 39 repetitions of the bench press.

As mentioned before, the combine is always exciting to watch to see which players help improve their stock, and if teams weren’t keeping an eye on Opeta before, they certainly will be following him more over the next two months.

Like most rookies, Opeta has a few areas in need of improvement such as balance, but at least he makes up for it in other areas such as upper body strength. The Rams may have to consider trading up in the first round if Opeta continues to watch his draft stock rise.

Unfortunately, Opeta’s impressive performance at the combine doesn’t necessarily guarantee he’s going to live up to the hype in the NFL. But when looking at some of the current members of the Rams offensive line Opeta would get to work with to help improve, it makes this scenario even more intriguing to consider.
