24. Oakland Raiders: Florida State Defensive End Brian Burns

As mentioned before, the Oakland Raiders are fortunate enough to have three picks in the first round of this year’s draft, and they certainly could use them all after looking at how much of a disaster turned out to be.

The whole point in hiring Jon Gruden as the new head coach last year was to help the Raiders return to the level of being a top contender in the AFC, and while there’s always hope of this happening in 2019, chances are they will be in for another year of rebuilding.

After looking at how the AFC West is shaping out to be for years to come, defense is going to be key for Oakland just to have any sort of shot at competing. And if the Raiders were smart, they would strongly consider using at least two of their three draft picks in the opening round on the defensive side of the football.

In what shouldn’t have come as a surprise to anyone, Brian Burns blew the minds of coaches in Indianapolis with his skill set, and the thought of him lining up on defense should terrify any opposing quarterback with his quick burst.

Burns is nowhere near the level impact wise as Khalil Mack was with the Raiders, but at least as a rookie, the defensive end could help the team feel better about the void that’s been missing.
