2019 NFL Mock Draft 2.0: Garrett Bradbury intriguing option for Los Angeles Rams

29. Kansas City Chiefs: Mississippi State Defensive Tackle Jeffery Simmons
Thanks to the Kansas City Chiefs taking a gamble last year by getting the Patrick Mahomes II era underway earlier than expected, Andy Reid seems to have a team that will be a serious threat in the AFC for years to come.
However, as this past January showed for the AFC West champions, just because Mahomes plays at a MVP level doesn’t always result in the Chiefs achieving their ultimate goal of playing in the Super Bowl after the New England Patriots handed them a loss in the AFC Championship.
In other words, Kansas City needs to focus on improving the defensive side of the football this offseason to put them in better position to compete with New England and the other top teams in the AFC.
Jeffery Simmons didn’t participate in the combine as a result of the defender previously dealing with some issues off the field, but the Chiefs or any other team showing interest hope the youngster can learn from his mistakes.
Despite his issues, many believe Simmons could end up going as high as the top 15 in the first round, meaning if Kansas City were to see him slip this late, it would almost seem too difficult to pass on the opportunity, that is assuming he can stay out of trouble.
