3. New York Jets: Kentucky Linebacker Josh Allen

The New York Jets will be fully focused on what the Arizona Cardinals decide to do with the top overall pick, because if they do decide to roll with a quarterback, this means Josh Allen has a great chance of being available at No. 3.

For months, the Kentucky standout has been viewed as one of the top defenders in this year’s draft, and rightfully so after watching how valuable he was to the Wildcats’ defense all these years, especially in 2018 when he recorded a whopping 17 sacks.

Watching Allen put on a show during drills at the combine really wasn’t all that surprising since he’s a top defender in the draft class for a reason, and after focusing on getting Sam Darnold at quarterback a year ago, it only seems fitting to see the Jets go defense this time around.

Drafting Allen would provide New York with a rookie defender who is already showing signs of having the talent to make a serious impact right away at the NFL level. Between Darnold running the offense, and Allen becoming a new addition to the defense, the Jets could be one of those surprise teams that could find a way to compete better than expected in 2019.
