5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Clemson Defensive End Clelin Ferrell

To say the defense of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers has been underachieving over the last few seasons would be a huge understatement since the unit can be best described as horrendous for holding the team back of their true potential.

Moving on from Dirk Koetter was the best decision the Buccaneers could have made this offseason since an experienced head coach like Bruce Arians should be able to help this team get back on track, that is assuming the defense does in fact show improvement.

Between free agency and the draft, the good news for Tampa Bay is the team will have plenty of great options to choose from, especially with the fifth overall pick in the first round.

Even though Clelin Ferrell didn’t get to show off his speed in the 40-yard dash, the Clemson star made up for it during the drills session of the combine, and would be in a great position to make an impact right away as a member of the Buccaneers.

The 21 sacks alone from his final two years with the Tigers are just one of many reasons to back up Tampa Bay if they were to in fact consider the possibility of Ferrell joining the squad.

As mentioned before, this year’s draft class if filled with plenty of great edge rushers, and Ferrell is right up there with some of the best, as it seems like only a matter of time before he’s viewed as one of the top rookies on defense in 2019.
