After bouncing around on a few different teams over the first eight years of his career, Ricky Proehl would eventually wind up in St. Louis on the Rams leading up to the 1998 season.

Rams fans will forever remember Proehl for his amazing touchdown catch in the NFC Championship Game from 30 yards out against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It sealed the deal for the Rams before they eventually won the Super Bowl at the end of the 1999 season.

In that game, Proehl led all Rams receivers with 100 yards to go along with that epic touchdown on six catches. He made it clear that bringing him on board when the Rams did in 1998 paid off in one of the best ways possible for the organization.

Five years spent in St. Louis, Proehl was always considered one of the most underrated members from The Greatest Show on Turf, even if he only had one catch in Super Bowl XXXIV against the Tennessee Titans.

Proehl never did get that second Super Bowl win during his time with the Rams. At least his playing career would end on a high note when he won as a member of the Indianapolis Colts during the 2006 season. That being said, his impact with Indianapolis was nowhere near what it was in St. Louis.
