3. McVay’s history of working with quarterbacks

Two years ago, the Rams decided to take a risk by hiring Sean McVay as the youngest head coach in NFL history, and to say it’s already worked wonders would be a huge understatement after looking at the results from the previous two seasons.

One of the main reasons why Los Angeles was so high on McVay to begin with was due to his previous work over the years in quarterback development, with Kirk Cousins being one of the players that benefitted the most.

Watching McVay bring out the best in Goff over the last two seasons has truly been amazing to witness, and the best part is these two seem to only be scratching the surface of their true potential on offense together.

While Bortles is nowhere near the same level as Goff talent wise, if there is any head coach capable of bringing out the best in the former first-round pick, McVay seems like a strong candidate.

McVay has proven to be one of the best in the NFL for a reason in this department throughout his career, and for all Bortles knows, the Rams head coach could even help him turn his career around before it’s too late.
