2. Fowler’s turnaround after joining Rams

At the time of the trade, there were some critics who questioned the decision by the Rams since Fowler appeared to be a waste of time after watching the defender combine for just nine tackles with two sacks in seven games with the Jaguars during the 2018 season.

While Los Angeles literally had nothing to lose by giving the trade a shot since the mid-round draft picks made it seem worth it, Fowler made the deal even more worth it when he finished the second half of the season by starting six of eight games for the Rams.

Even in the playoffs, Fowler made his presence felt in a big way on numerous occasions to show all he really needed was a fresh start in Los Angeles to help his career get back on track.

After missing his entire rookie campaign due to an injury, Fowler showed a ton of potential during his first two NFL seasons by appearing in all 32 games for Jacksonville while recording 12 sacks in the process.

Fowler’s production may have taken a step back in 2018 following a poor start, but also he deserves a ton of credit for turning things around when it mattered the most for the Rams. And now that Fowler is going to have a full offseason to continue becoming more familiar with the system in Los Angeles, it’s only going to make the defense that much stronger.
