2. Blake Bortles

As soon as it was announced that Nick Foles would be signing with the Jacksonville Jaguars, it only seemed like a matter of time before the team officially moved on from Blake Bortles at quarterback, which turned out to be exactly the case.

While it was difficult for the Jaguars to move on from Bortles after that hefty extension from last offseason, the former first-round pick received every opportunity in the world to prove himself worthy over the years, coming up short just about every other time.

Even when Jacksonville was on the verge of reaching the Super Bowl back in 2018, Bortles never truly looked like the top quarterback the Jaguars needed him to be on offense. And as a result, Bortles is now in search of his next team for the 2019 season.

Sadly, Bortles knows he’s at a stage where it could be slim pickings for his next team, but as mentioned before with other quarterbacks potentially benefitting from developing under McVay, this situation would be no different.

Bortles has been one of the biggest victims of criticism for most of his career, and despite how things played out in Jacksonville, Los Angeles knows he could still bring plenty of value to the offense as a backup to Goff.
