16. Washington Redskins

The argument can be made that if Alex Smith didn’t suffer that gruesome leg injury last season, the Washington Redskins most likely would have earned a trip to the playoffs since they were in consideration up until the final weeks.

In good time, the Redskins will see if Smith can ever return to action, but whether Case Keenum is the answer in the mean time is a different story.

With all due respect to the veteran quarterback, there’s a reason why the Denver Broncos were willing to give up on Keenum after only one year since he just doesn’t seem like the right fit at quarterback.

If Washington were smart, they would take advantage of this year’s draft by selecting a quarterback to potentially build the franchise around, but that’s a different story for another day.

For now, the main focus for the Redskins needs to be making sure they put their new quarterback for the 2019 season in the best position possible to be successful on offense. On a positive note, at least Washington struck gold on the defensive side of the football by landing one of the top free agents from this year’s class in Landon Collins, which will be fun after all those years with the New York Giants.
