7. Los Angeles Chargers
After all the seasons spent watching the Los Angeles Chargers come up short when it mattered the most, the team finally lived up to the hype for a change by earning a trip to the playoffs this past season.
Even more impressive, the Chargers made things real interesting for the Kansas City Chiefs in the race for the division title, and should be right up their once again with their rivals for 2019, especially when looking at some of the drama the team has been dealing with in recent weeks.
Los Angeles knows that Philip Rivers is nearing the end of his amazing football career, and with all of the talent this team is fortunate enough to work with on both sides of the football, it would be a shame if they didn’t take advantage of the opportunity to make a run at the Super Bowl.
Watching the Chargers lose to the New England Patriots the way they did in the Divisional Round last January made it clear there were a few areas still in need of improvement, but at least they have the offseason to work on it.
With Rivers continuing to show that staying healthy is never an issue, Los Angeles should have little trouble competing for a playoff spot in 2019 with hopefully better results than before.
