26. San Francisco 49ers

Around this time last year, the San Francisco 49ers were viewed as one of those teams expected to make the next step in the NFC to serious contender after ending 2017 on a hot note by winning their final five games.

Unfortunately, the 49ers watched their season go downhill real fast after Jimmy Garoppolo suffered a torn ACL early on in the year, although on a positive note, at least all signs point to the quarterback bouncing back to his usual ways.

Still, just because Garoppolo’s rehab has been going well doesn’t necessarily guarantee that San Francisco will be able to live up to the hype this time around, even if the team has been busy so far in free agency with numerous key moves.

For a team in need of adding another pass rusher, the 49ers should be thrilled over adding Dee Ford since the former Kansas City Chiefs star should make an immediate impact on the defensive side of the football.

Assuming this happens, Ford and some of the other key additions by San Francisco will certainly help Garoppolo feel more comfortable under center, as the quarterback will be extra motivated to prove he’s worth every penny of that hefty contract signed last offseason.
